September News

Hi all, I hope I am finding you all healthy and glad for the coming of fall. We have been opened back up for a month. We are back to our regular hours September thru the end of the year: Wednesday thru Sunday  10-4.  It’s been so nice to see people again. Maine Shop Hop just came to the end for this year after many ups and downs and postponements and the committee is already busy with planning for 2021.  We are happy to say that we got a lot of wonderful comments about all the changes we have made in the shop. We are wearing masks. We are socially distancing. We are cleaning and sanitizing. Different yes, but really great to see all of you who were able to stop by and support our shop.  We have worked hard at making sure everyone feels comfortable coming in and looking around.  We have been and will continue to offer curbside service as well.

We are hoping to resume classes in the next few weeks. The classroom and how we host classes will now be different as well.  We are confident that we can begin again cautiously and resume our regular groups in a smaller format.  Please check the website for upcoming events and classes @ www.anniesttqs.com

Our next event is our local annual

LEAF PEEPERS SHOP HOP

that will take place the first weekend in October, the 1st - 3rd.

HOURS:

Thursday 9-5,

Friday 9-6 and Saturday 9-5.

We have more events to look forward to well as future fun stuff planned for the new year.  Be sure to take look at the new BOMS and special classes TBA. Hmmm, Bolts and Quarters……just what is Mum thinking about?  And can we maybe just maybe pull off a Winter Retreat?

I have been mulling over and thinking about the what-if’s and the why’s of this tumultuous time in our lives.  I have spent a lot of our downtime worrying and wondering. I don’t function well when I stay too far in the past or too far into the future. I am saddened at some of the pain and suffering I have seen and heard about. Globally and locally it can be… just too much to bear at times.

I have decided to be thankful for this gift of time. Thankful for the time to be at home, to take a breath, and catch up with my own life.  I always feel clearer, safer, more loved, and less judged when I move back from the edge. Back to my center in the circle of my family and my friends.  And in the circle of our dear teeny tiny quilt shop of friends. You all mean so very much to us.  We thank you all for your support in all ways to our little shop and we look forward to the day we can toss these masks and say hello with our bright shiny smiles!

Take good care and see you soon,

Annie and Janet
